On-line buyer’s guide and guaranteed
When you are approaching to spend some money for a professional instrument on line and you can’t try the instrument live, you should always bear in mind these questions:
Is there a guarantee? If yes, how long does the guarantee last and what does it cover?
Is the maker a very good player?
Are there people all around the world playing the maker’s instruments?
Is the maker responsible for the whole making process?
Did you hear good feedback about the instrument?
Does the maker makes didgeridoos as a full time job or just as a hobby?
When you get in touch with the maker, is he or she helpful, polite and willing to meet your needs?
Does the maker which is selling his didgeridoo pay taxes for this?
As didgeridoo maker I will try now to explain and reply to these questions from my point of view and experience

There is a guarantee? And if yes how long it last and about what?
Always ask for a guarantee, and ask how long it last and what does it cover
Talking about my instruments there’s always a guaranteed, in my case it’s TEN YEARS , no Just some months but years!
For me it’s very important to keep and guarantee perfectly working my instruments , ten years it’s an important proof of quality.
To support this special guaranteed a 24/7 customers service is provided for every kind of help or advice.
Take also in consideration about this guaranteed that EVEN for your fault, if something happen to the didgeridoo it will be FIXED OR CHANGE this damaged part FOR FREE , every kind of damage that can accidentally happen I will be happy to fix it for free or if needed even CHANGE the damaged part for free, i will ask you just shipping costs.
Is the person who made the didgeridoo a very good player?
Another important quality aspect to take seriously in consideration is if the person who made the didgeridoo is a very good player. When i say a very good player I don’t mean a virtuoso player who played on many big stages all around the world (lol) I just mean someone able to play well many different techniques not just drone with some voice and circular breathing on time, this is another very important proof of quality when you are buying on line an instrument.Don’t trust people making didgeridoos with very limited playing skills, a didgeridoo maker that is not able to play properly how he can test properly the didgeridoo he made?
There’s other people all around the world playing this instrument?
Another quality proof to find when you are buying on line is how many people is playing the brand you are interested all around the world, during the last 10 years I had the opportunity to sell and make happy many people in many countries for example Europe,China, USA,Canada,Taiwan,Hawaii, Island, Russia, UK, Ireland, Ecuador, Bolivia,Argentina, Portugal and many others, you can see that on my website on the videos page or from my Facebook or Instagram page, probably you know someone from your country playing my didgeridooos.
Is the maker responsible for the whole making process?
This is a controversial question, on my side I prefer be part of every aspect of the making process of a didgeridoo, when a didgeridoo start becoming a complex machine able to play a lot of keys with different aluminum sliding pipes or is a body removable model
many different working skills are required to make it possible, some makers prefer to delegate some part of the process to others, like the sliding pipes system, which its good in itself but i have my doubts about a good customer service able to replace parts during the years, or simply give to customers the proper advice for something happened on the didgeridoo, be part of the whole process allows me to make every time custom made didgeridoo, made exactly as customer asked not in serie.
Did you hear good feedback about the instrument?
This is another good point to take in consideration, the other people’s feedback, because its not directly bound to the maker
Does the maker makes didgeridoos as a full time job or as a hobby?
Off course we know a lot of didgeridoo makers crafting beautiful instruments in their spare time, so make this as hobby when there is some free time it’s possible, for my side I couldn’t do that,I made a decision many years ago to do this as only job, just didgeridoos , not making didgeridoos and others instruments but just didgeridoos . In this way I could (and I can) be more focused 24/7 on the making process which is very complicated and all the things around the making process like making/editing videos of my didgeridoos, be present on social media, keep playing and developing new prototypes and be always present to reply to potential customers or as customers service,I don’t know if it could be possible to do all of this just in the weekend
When you get in touch with the maker, is he or she helpful, polite and willing to meet your needs?
This is another important point, when people want to buy a good didgeridoo they do a little investment and a big effort so I feel its very important to reply politely to all the questions, every people has different needs and different experience, something that for us it could be obvious for others it could be new, its very important to respect and be kind with everyone asking for customers service or information about how to buy a didgeridoo. If I can live making didgeridoos and feed my family with this job it’s thanks to my customers, some people should keep this in mind very well.
Does the maker which is selling his/her didgeridoo pay taxes for this?
I know for someone this is a very controversial question but It’s important to mention it. A didgeridoo maker paying tax for the sold didgeridoos it’s important for many reasons, for first he “exist” for the state and for the law and this is a kind of guaranteed for customers, then it’s also a proof of professional job not just an hobby and for last it is something to take in consideration when you see the prices, don’t pay any tax it’s unfair for the other maker and illegal.
I hope you appreciated these thoughts and you found useful, not necessary to buy a didgeridoo for me but to have a clear idea when you see some expensive or super cheap prices if it really worth your investment.
Always ask for a guarantee, and ask how long it last and what does it cover
